About

Hey, I’m Albert! A software product builder, professional tutor and mentor, and creative ceramicist.

My Career to Product Management

Right now, I’m a Senior Product Manager at Guild, where I lead the Employer Partners product team. We’re building the infrastructure to help companies support career mobility for their people.

Before this, I was the first PM at Trala (acquired by Learnfield GmbH), helping build an app that teaches people how to play violin using real-time audio feedback. I also worked at Khan Academy, working on both donor engagement and classroom tools used by teachers to help enhance instruction

My path into tech started in chemical engineering. I worked on large capital projects at Chevron Lummus Global and published research at CU Boulder on UV-VIS/FT-NIR spectroscopy and visible-light organic photocatalysis. That background in systems and problem-solving still shapes how I approach product today.

Tutoring

II started TrailFinder Tutoring to make high-quality, personalized tutoring a reality for learners from middle school to high school students. I work with students on a variety of topics ranging from Mandarin Chinese, Mathematics, Executive Function, and project-based mentoring. These foundations help students accelerate their learning and help set them up for success when applying for university. If that sounds like something you're looking for, feel free to reach out.

Ceramics

When I’m not in spreadsheets or sessions, I’m usually at the wheel. I’ve been making pottery for the past few years and now teach one-time wheel classes at Clayroom Oakland. There’s something satisfying about making something real, tangible, and totally analog. You can see my work on Instagram.

If you’re curious about my work related to product, tutoring, or clay, I’d love to connect. Shoot me a note!
