About

Hey, I’m Albert — a product builder, longtime tutor, and dabbling ceramicist. I care deeply about helping people grow — whether that’s through better tools, sharper skills, or simply creating something by hand.

My Career to Product Management

Right now, I’m a Senior Product Manager at Guild, where I lead the Employer Partners product team. We’re building the infrastructure to help companies support career mobility for their people — it’s complex, high-impact work, and I know it makes a difference in people’s lives.

Before this, I was the first PM at Trala, helping build an app that teaches people how to play violin using real-time audio feedback. We were acquired by Learnfield GmbH. I also worked at Khan Academy, working on both donor engagement and classroom tools used by teachers to help enhance instruction

My path into tech started in chemical engineering — I worked on large capital projects at Chevron Lummus Global and published research at CU Boulder on UV-VIS/FT-NIR spectroscopy and visible-light organic photocatalysis. That background in systems and problem-solving still shapes how I approach product today.

Tutoring

I’ve been tutoring for over 15 years. It’s a core part of who I am. I’ve worked with a wide range of learners — from middle school students to adults — mostly focused on Math and Mandarin. I started TrailFinder Tutoring to make high-quality, personalized tutoring a reality for learners. If that sounds like something you're looking for, feel free to reach out on my website.

Ceramics

When I’m not in spreadsheets or sessions, I’m usually at the wheel. I’ve been making pottery for the past few years and now teach one-time wheel classes at Clayroom Oakland. There’s something satisfying about making something real, tangible, and totally analog. You can see some of my work (or commission something) on Instagram.

If you’re curious about my work — whether it’s product, tutoring, or clay — I’d love to connect. Shoot me a note.
